Multiaxial fatigue behaviour of maraging steel produced by selective laser melting

چکیده
This paper studies the multiaxial fatigue behaviour of maraging steel samples produced by selective laser melting. Hollow cylindrical specimens with transverse circular holes are subjected to different in-phase bending-torsion loading scenarios. Fatigue crack initiation sites and angles predicted from first principal stress field. lifetime is computed using a straightforward approach, based on one-parameter damage law, developed via uniaxial low-cycle tests. The cyclic plasticity at notch-controlled process zone accounted for combining equivalent strain energy density concept theory critical distances within linear-elastic framework. Regardless scenario, experimental observations lives very well correlated.

Low-Cycle Fatigue Behaviour of AISI 18Ni300 Maraging Steel Produced by Selective Laser Melting
Selective laser melting has received a great deal of attention in recent years. Nevertheless, research has been mainly focused on the technical issues and their relationship with the final microstructure and monotonic properties. Fatigue behaviour has rarely been addressed, and the emphasis has been placed on high-cycle regimes. The aim of this paper is, therefore, to study, in a systematic man...
متن کاملFatigue of Ti6Al4V Structural Health Monitoring Systems Produced by Selective Laser Melting
Selective laser melting (SLM) is an additive manufacturing (AM) process which is used for producing metallic components. Currently, the integrity of components produced by SLM is in need of improvement due to residual stresses and unknown fracture behavior. Titanium alloys produced by AM are capable candidates for applications in aerospace and industrial fields due to their fracture resistance,...
متن کاملComparison of Maraging Steel Micro- and Nanostructure Produced Conventionally and by Laser Additive Manufacturing
Maraging steels are used to produce tools by Additive Manufacturing (AM) methods such as Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) and Selective Laser Melting (SLM). Although it is well established that dense parts can be produced by AM, the influence of the AM process on the microstructure-in particular the content of retained and reversed austenite as well as the nanostructure, especially the precipitate ...
متن کاملMicrostructures and Properties of 17-4 PH Stainless Steel Fabricated by Selective Laser Melting
Precipitation-hardened (PH) stainless steels have been widely used as structural materials and related applications in marine environments, power plants (light-water and pressurized water reactors), and chemical industries because of their good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance at typical service temperatures below 300oC. 17-4 PH (A1S1630) stainless steel (15–17.5 Cr, 3–5 Ni, 3–5 C...
متن کاملInfluence of post-processing on Ti6Al4V lattice structures produced by Selective Laser Melting
Selective laser melting (SLM) is a novel technique being increasingly used for the production of porous structures with a high degree of precision and near net shape. These porous materials are finding their use in the biomedical industry for implants. In this thesis, the effect of post-processing using hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and surface modification techniques, such as chemical etching a...
